1991: Apple Computer's John Sculley demonstrates to IBM engineers an IBM PS/2 Model 70 running Apple's "Pink" object-oriented operating system, appearing to be Apple's System 7.0 operating system.
1992: The jury of a Federal District Court in Los Angeles, California, finds Sega Enterprises guilty of infringing an American inventor's patent, ordering US$33 million paid. The jury finds that the infringement was intentional, so the judge can triple the fine. The inventor's attorney will seek an order barring the sale of video games by Sega.
1994: Acclaim releases the Mortal Kombat II video game for the Sega 32X in the US.
2000: IBM introduces the 32GB Travelstar hard drive for portable computers. It can hold 17 billion bits per square inch, a new record for hard drive areal density. The drive has a spin rate of 5400 RPM, and partially disables error correction allowing smoother video playback.
