1995: Advanced Micro Devices and Intel settle all outstanding processor-related legal issues. Advanced Micro Devices pays Intel US$58 million in damages, and Intel pays US$18 million for breach of contract damages. Advanced Micro Devices retains full rights to microcode in Intel386 and Intel486 chips.
1995: Borland International founder Philippe Kahn resigns as president and CEO, remaining as chairman.
1996: Umax Data Systems of Taiwan buys Radius' Macintosh business, including the Macintosh operating system license. Umax will set up a US company, Umax Computer, to produce a line of Macintosh compatible computers.
2005: At the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Apple Computer introduces the Mac mini computer. It features 1.25 GHz G4 processor, 40 GB hard drive, 256 MB RAM, 32 MB ATI Radeon 9200 graphics, 512 kB L2 cache, two USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 400 port, 10/100BaseT Ethernet, AirPort, DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, optional AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth. Size is 6.5 x 6.5 x 2 inches; weight is 2.9 pounds. Price is US$499 with no keyboard, mouse, or display. Another model has 1.42 GHz processor and 80 GB hard drive, for US$599.
2005: LucasArts releases the Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction video game for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in the US.
2005: Capcom releases the Resident Evil 4 video game for the GameCube in the US. Price is US$49.99.
