1985: Applied Computer Techniques of Great Britain introduces the Apricot computer in the US.
1992: At the first NeXTWORLD Expo, held in San Francisco, Steve Jobs announces that a version of the NeXTSTEP operating system will be made for Intel-based personal computers. Jobs also announces Turbo versions of NeXTstation, NeXTstation Color, NeXTcube with 33-MHz 68040, NEXTSTEP 3.0 OS.
1995: The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. A bowling alley shows arcade video game Time Waister.

1997: Microsoft settles its browser royalty dispute with Spyglass by agreeing to a one-time payment of US$7.5 million.
1998: Microsoft reaches a deal with the US Department of Justice, in which Microsoft will hide the Internet Explorer icon on Windows 95.
2002: America Online, on behalf of Netscape Communications, files an antitrust suit against Microsoft regarding web browser issues.
