1998: Apple Computer shifts development and distribution of ClarisWorks from Claris back to Apple, and renames it AppleWorks. Claris is renamed FileMaker, with primary focus the FileMaker Pro software. 30 Claris employees are laid off.
2000: 989 Sports sponsors the annual "Game Before the Game" football challenge, pitting Marshall Faulk of the St. Louis Rams versus Frank Wycheek of the Tennessee Titans in a game of NFL GameDay 2000. The St. Louis Rams win.
