1987: Canon introduces the Cat computer, featuring 5-MHz 68000 processor, 9-inch monochrome screen, 3.5-inch 256 kB floppy disk drive, software in RAM (word processor, spreadsheet, telecommunications features), for US$1495.
1992: Federal District Court Judge Fern Smith awards Lewis Galoob Toys US$15 million against Nintendo regarding the Game Genie Video Game Enhancer.
1997: Hewlett-Packard announces the HP DeskJet 400L color ink jet printer. Black print resolution is 600-by-300 dots per inch, at three pages per minute.. Price is US$149, including a black ink cartridge.
2000: Sony releases the PS One video game system in Japan, internally the same as the PlayStation, but in a smaller case, with external power supply, and slot for an optional clip-on screen. Price is 15,000 yen (about US$140).
2001: The animated film Pokémon: Celebi's Time Adventure is released in Japan.
