1985: Atari begins shipping the Atari 520ST computer. It features monochrome monitor, 512 kB RAM, 3.5-inch floppy drive, BASIC, and Logo. Price is about US$800.
1997: Apple Computer announces the resignation of Gilbert Amelio as CEO. His severance package is about US$7.5 million. Ellen Hancock also resigns from Apple Computer.
2007: At the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony announces a price drop of US$100 on the PlayStation 3 with 60 GB hard drive, dropping it to US$499. The 20 GB model is now discontinued. In August, an 80 GB version with Motorstorm will debut, for US$599. Once the 60 GB version is sold out, it will be discontinued.
2008: Activision and Vivendi Games complete their merger, worth $18.8 billion, forming Activision Blizzard.
