Video Games

1996: Compaq Computer announces the Armada line of notebook computers, including the low-end 1100 series, and high-end 4100 series. Compaq also announces three new models in the LTE 5300 line.

1997: At the PC Expo show, Corel releases the WordPerfect Suite 8, including WordPerfect 8, QuattroPro 8, Presentations 8, CorelCentral, PhotoHouse 1.1, Netscape Navigator 3.0, Envoy 7 viewer, Bitstream Font Navigator 2. Full price is US$395; upgrade price is US$179.

2002: Microsoft releases the Internet Explorer 5.2 web browser for the Mac OS X. The software is free from Microsoft's Web site.

2003: Sega releases the Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut video game for the Nintendo GameCube in the US.

2008: Mozilla releases the Firefox 3.0 web browser for download. 8.3 million downlaoads are recorded in the first 24 hours.

2009: Atari releases the Ghostbusters video game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Wii in the USA.
