1985: Franklin Computer introduces the ACE 2000 series, compatible with Apple Computer systems. The three models range in price from US$700 to $1000.

2001: At the Demomobile conference in La Jolla, California, Microsoft unveils the Pocket PC 2002 operating system.

2001: The US Department of Justice announces it will no longer pursue the breakup of Microsoft, or the claim that Microsoft illegally integrated its browser with Windows.

2005: Square Enix releases the Radiata Stories video game for the PlayStation 2 in the US.

2005: Ubisoft releases the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown video game for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube in the US.

2005: Namco releases the Rebelstar Tactical Command video game for the Game Boy Advance in the US.

2006: Advanced Micro Devices releases the Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5200+ AM2 processor. Price is US$827 in quantities of 1000.

2006: Sony announces a delay of introducing the PlayStation 3 in Europe, Australia, and other parts of the world until March.

2006: EA Sports releases the NASCAR 07 video game for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox in the US.

2006: Sony Computer Entertainment of America announces it will have 400,000 PlayStation 3 systems available for the North American launch in November, with 100,000 units available in Japan.

1987: Saskatchewan Rough Riders' Dave Ridgway kicks a Canadian Football League record 60-yard field goal.

1989: Amateur Atheletic Federation strips Ben Johnson of all track records.

1989: England holds Sweden to a 0-0 draw in Sweden, qualifying for the 1990 FIFA World Cup. The game became famous after Terry Butcher sustained a deep cut to his forehead early in the game. He received stitches but played on the entire game. By the end of the game, the front of Butcher's white shirt and shorts where almost entirely covered in blood.

1995: Cal Ripken Junior of the Baltimore Orioles breaks the all time consecutive games played record in Major League Baseball with his 2131st game.

2001: Barry Bonds becomes the fifth major leaguer to hit 60 home runs in a season, reaching the milestone in the shortest time, just 141 games.

2009: In Oschersleben, Germany, round 9 of the FIA World Touring Car Championship is held. Race 1 is won by Andy Priaulx; race 2 is won by Augusto Farfus.

2009: In Australia, round 10 of the FIA World Rally Championship is won by Mikko Hirvonen.

2009: In Misano, San Marino, round 13 of the FIM MotoGP Championship is won by Valentino Rossi.
